At a young age, Ruth demonstrated her work ethic by beginning her employment at Douglas Airfield at 16 and working at Bell Bomber in Marietta, GA, building airplanes for WWII at just 17 years old.Īside from working at AT&T as a telephone technician, Ruth had a green thumb and took great pride in her gardening skills, earning the yard of the month award multiple times.
